Active holidays in Chiemgau, home area of the Steinbach-Hotel

Lake ‘Chiemsee’, Bavaria's sea, is the third largest lake in Germany.
A lake and recreation area first class. Who looks from ‘Prien’ or ‘Gstadt’ across the lake is particularly impressed by the suddenly towering mountain range behind the lake. ‘Hochfelln’, ‘Hochgern’, ‘Hochplatte’ and ‘Kampenwand’ often appear in the best light.

In the foreground, the islands ‘Frauenchiemsee’ (with nunnery) and
Herrenchiemsee’, on which the castle “Herrenchiemsee” was built.
'Fairy tale king Ludwig II' knew where it's nice!

Depending on where you start and if you can get the gondola lift immediately,
you can actually stand within about 30 minutes in 1674 m altitude on the summit
of ‘Hochfelln’.
