Many scenic highlights around Ruhpolding
The ‘Watzmann’ with its 2713 m altitude is only the second highest mountain in Germany, but contrary to the ‘Zugspitze’ it is 100% on German territory.
The ‘Zugspitze’ is shared with Austria.
The onion- domed towers of 'St.Bartholomä' on the lake' and in front of the east wall of the ‘Watzmann’ as well as the little church in ‘Ramsau’ are two world-famous photo motifs in Berchtesgaden.
To mention are two other places of interest in the Berchtesgaden country: the salt mine and the ‘Kehlsteinhaus’, both worth a visit.
